Holiness means becoming more like Jesus through faith, the sacraments, prayer, and concrete acts of charity. It is not about perfection, but about a sincere desire to follow Christ and grow in His love every day.
Acknowledge your sins and turn away from them. Repentance means recognizing where you have strayed from God and making a sincere commitment to change.
Action: Examine your conscience daily and seek reconciliation through the Sacrament of Penance.
Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died and rose for your salvation. Trust in His love and mercy for you personally.
Action: Read the Gospels regularly and meditate on Christ's teachings and example.
Communicate with God through prayer. Prayer is simply talking to God—sharing your joys, sorrows, gratitude, and needs with Him.
Action: Pray the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be daily. Consider praying the Rosary.
Read God's Word in the Bible and receive the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation. These are channels of God's grace.
Action: Attend Mass regularly and receive Holy Communion. Confess your sins at least once a year.
Jesus taught that loving God and loving your neighbor are inseparable. Serve the poor, the sick, the lonely, and those in need. See Christ in every person.
Action: Volunteer with Catholic charities, help the homeless, visit the sick, support your parish community.
Holiness is not reserved for saints and clergy. It is the calling of every baptized Christian. Holiness means:
