The Ten Commandments

God's eternal law of love, given to guide us toward holiness and righteousness. These commandments reveal God's will for our lives and call us to live in harmony with His divine plan.

The Greatest Commandments

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind

Matthew 22:37-38

This is the first and greatest commandment. All love for God flows from this central command. It encompasses the first three commandments and calls us to total devotion.

Love your neighbor as yourself

Matthew 22:39-40

The second greatest commandment summarizes the remaining commandments. Jesus taught that all the law and prophets hang on these two commandments of love.

"All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." — Matthew 22:40

Jesus taught the Beatitudes as the path to spiritual blessedness. They show us how to live in the Kingdom of God.

Blessed are the poor in spirit

Theirs is the kingdom of heaven

Blessed are those who mourn

They will be comforted

Blessed are the meek

They will inherit the earth

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness

They will be filled

Blessed are the merciful

They will be shown mercy

Blessed are the pure in heart

They will see God

Blessed are the peacemakers

They will be called children of God

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness

Theirs is the kingdom of heaven

Living the Commandments with Love

The Ten Commandments are not meant to burden us, but to liberate us. They show us the way to true freedom, peace, and joy. When we follow God's law with love in our hearts, we experience the fullness of life that Jesus promised. Let us strive each day to honor God, love our neighbors, and live as Christ taught us.

"If you love me, keep my commands." — John 14:15
